This year our robotics class was given the challenge to build a 3D model of the city of Compton and to program drones to fly safely from place to place using coordinates. The idea was to show that in a near future drones will be the solution to a better, safer and faster way of transportation. Our next project will focus on mapping their 3D model city with the use of drones. Students will be able to create maps with pictures taken from their drones at specific coordinates and height. They will learn about the many applications and uses of their maps in many fields such as urban planning, highway design, housing, archaeology and agriculture. Empower my students with the knowledge to program drones to not only go from place to place safely but also use coordinates to take pictures and make accurate maps
