I am so lucky to get to spend the majority of my days with some of the most awesome 11 and 12 year olds in the whole world! My students are all wonderfully unique. Some of them come from single-parent homes, some are members of large families. I have students who dream of being professional athletes and students who love animals so much that they will beg their classmates not to smash the spider that just lowered itself from the bookshelf. Each one of them holds a special place in my heart.
My students make me hopeful for the future!
I tell them every day how proud they make me. They learn by working hard and having fun. They are so kind and helpful to each other. They are teaching me as much as I am teaching them. I am so blessed to be their teacher!
My students are currently sitting on a rug with rips and stains that I purchased with my own funds fresh out of college. They would be much more comfortable on a new rug for our lessons; not to mention that this rug will be a great way to show them the places we are reading about on the map.
This rug will help me teach my students about the world around them as we travel the country in our read alouds.
I can just imagine the excitement when we read about Minnesota or Texas and a student gets to jump and show the class that they are sitting on that state on our rug. I am so excited to use this rug and am already planning fun activities that would be possible if we had it in my mind. Please help make this a reality for me and my students!
