My students love to read! It is my mission to develop students who are readers. Not just students who read because I tell them to, but kids who really just love to read. For the past two years I have been racking my brain for a way to pull in all of those students who are not quite as interested in reading as I know they could be. I have bought countless books and presented them in various ways trying to get these kids hooked on reading. Some of my students favorite parts of the day are independent reading time and "share square". My students get to read books of their choice and then come together to talk about the books that they are reading. This is such a genuine way to build real life long readers. By allowing them choice and the ability to be social in their reading I feel that my kids can truly develop a love for reading. We would appreciate any help you can give us towards reaching our reading goals!
