Manipulatives to Engage

Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My third-grade students are curious about reading and math strategies. My classroom supports a diverse population, including students with a variety of learning needs. These include students who are academically gifted, ELL, and working with ADHD. We are no longer a departmentalized third grade classroom. My students get to be a part of learning responsibility, organizational skills, and adapting to various teaching styles. My students are developing a love of reading, thriving for math opportunities as well as science and social studies. They are experiencing a variety of strategies and hands-on projects as we are also an Arts Integrated school.

I have a great deal of ELL students, and I want to engage them in the best educational environment possible.

I want students to feel free to express themselves in whatever manner works for them.I work hard to ensure all students value, appreciate and enjoy learning.

My Project

I am starting a project that requires students to create a model of their fears. I am calling it "unlocking the fears." Fears can range from afraid of writing, reading, math, science and being artistic, speaking with other students.

My students are in need of the hands-on materials I requested in order to meet each individual need.I am looking for supplies such as modeling clay, paper, art supplies to complete.My students will use the manipulatives in small group and whole group activity.

The goal is to provide them opportunities to learn within their various learning styles. I am looking for some assistance with our overpowering other subjects in order to provide my wonderful students a wonderful and productive experience learning math. Students need the manipulatives in order to meet each of the students' needs throughout the year.

By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve and increase student attention and focus, you will ultimately help to increase their academic achievement.
