This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students are curious, enthusiastic, funny, unique, and creative thinkers. They come to school every day excited to learn. They absolutely love hands-on, active, engaging projects and challenges that allow them to think outside the box to find solutions.

They are inquisitive about the world around them, so I strive to broaden their horizons and challenge their minds.

We actively work on STEAM assignments incorporating Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics. Each child in my classroom absolutely loves learning, although the method and environment in which they learn best vary greatly. We incorporate a variety of learning strategies and group activities.

My Project

As an educator, I fully understand the impact of having the right materials to accompany a lesson. It enhances the lesson. My students learn so much more when they are allowed to be creative. I have seen the very successful results. The students are fully engaged and participation is wonderful. I am asking for help with supplying my students with dry erase markers and erasers. These two items will be used on whiteboards for informal assessments and group work. The pencils, colored pencils, and sticky notes will be used to take notes or place notes on projects during our gallery walks.

I have seen student skills advance significantly when they are allowed to design, discuss, and communicate with each other.

Therefore, I am asking for your support by helping me to provide the best learning experience, environment, methods and activities for the students in my class. Math is a critical need area and these manipulatives are just the thing to help my students. My students will be so excited to be able to demonstrate and apply there learning using these manipulatives!
