I have 43 amazing students who have shown resilience through these difficult COVID years. My students have been heavily impacted by COVID-19. I work in a low income Title 1 school where many of my students parents are working hard to get by for themselves and their families.
When COVID happened many of my students were unable to learn online because there were resources unavailable to them or they needed to help with household tasks.
COVID-19 has heavily impacted their learning, and has made it so many of my students are below their expected benchmarks, and are very behind in their learning.
These students have not given up hope, and although they may not have certain resources, their will to keep going, and their ability to try has been inspiring.
My Project
Many of my students complain of not having access to materials that they would use in the classroom at home. These materials would provide me with the ability to send quality materials home with my students to use on their remote days.
I have requested more manipulatives for my classroom to help my students with their learning gaps so we can have more visual examples to help them better understand math and science concepts.
In the classroom we use whiteboards, and whiteboard markers everyday as we practice our math concepts. This project would help ensure that each student has the required materials for everyday use.
