My students are exceptionally hard workers who need to learn in different ways. Each child is inspiring because they work so hard for each accomplishment, and for that reason, every objective they achieve means that much more. In special education classrooms, we strive to teach and learn in varied ways that appeal to students with many different needs. I love seeing the sense of accomplishment when my students master new skills!

My Project

My special education students need additional resources to help them master their individual goals. Many of my students need additional practice with counting, number recognition, and one to one correspondence. The Mini Motors and Bear counters will allow them to practice these math objectives with a hands-on approach. The Alphabet Acorns will be used to practice letter names, letter sounds, counting, and color matching. Fidgets, such as the Tangle, and flexible seating, such as the Portable Lap Desk, Bouncy Chair Bands, and Balance Balls, are beneficial in many ways to my students. Flexible seating provides students with choices in their day, as well as comfort that enables them to focus on their objective. The stimulation provided by flexible seating options can help many students focus and process information.
