Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our school has a high percentage of students who come from low-income families. My students are eager to learn and very excited. Some of the children had the opportunity to attend prekindergarten, and the rest of them came with very little or no experience in a formal school setting.
My goal is to have fun with students and help them increase their math and science knowledge.
I will create different activities where they can use their imaginations and creativity to have fun while learning. They will love using new materials and also have their work exposed.
My Project
My students need a lot of hands on activities in order to engage in different activities and learning. Mathematics manipulatives like the giant magnetic place value, the magnetic building math boards and the money equivalence puzzles would help students understand different concepts and make it easier to learn.
Students learn also by having fun in the classroom; if they have different materials to work with and have an interesting lesson, they will be willing to try the requested task, and therefore have a successful learning experience.
The math manipulatives for money, place value, time will be really useful to achieve my goals in my mathematics classroom and my students will be delighted.
