My Project

Manga is one of the most popular sections of our high school library. Students regularly browse the shelves, recommend series to one another, and ask for new titles and the next volumes in their favorite series. I want to build on that excitement by expanding our manga collection and creating a new Manga and Anime Book Club where students can connect through stories they already love.

This project will add high-interest manga titles and series to our library, giving students more choices and helping us fill gaps in popular series.

Manga's combination of visual storytelling and engaging plots can also provide an inviting entry point for reluctant readers and students who may not typically pick up a traditional novel.

The new Manga and Anime Book Club will give students a welcoming space to read, discuss favorite series and characters, discover new titles, talk about anime adaptations, and build friendships with other students who share their interests. The books purchased through this project won't just fill our shelves—they'll help create a community of readers.

By supporting this project, you are helping me meet students where their interests are and use their enthusiasm for manga and anime to encourage reading, connection, creativity, and a sense of belonging in our high school library.
