This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My fourth-grade students are generous, full of energy, and dreams. They are resilient to any obstacles that they encounter and they strive for their best academically and emotionally. Indeed, I am very proud of my students for not only being monolingual but striving to learn a new language and become bilingual. Every day I witness how my students develop their skills in all subjects as they master both languages, English and Spanish.

My Project

By funding this project, you will help me provide my students with a space to manage their anxiety and stress by practicing mindfulness. It is essential to teach my students different breathing exercises during class time. Therefore, the essential oils and diffuser will create a positive mood in the classroom that will help them ease their stress while breathing. In addition, the squishies and pop-it fidget toys will support students to stay calm when feeling overwhelmed when completing a quiz/test in my class. As a teacher, it is my duty to provide resources for my students that will target their social-emotional learning.
