My percussion kids are definitely amazing. They not only learn how to "bang on drums" in rhythmic and musical ways, they first learn how to make melodies on the keyboard instruments such as the xylophone and bells. Eventually they move on to more advanced instruments such as the standing chimes.
Most of our yarn mallets have seen better days...Much better days!
Yarn is fraying or unraveling. Some mallets look like they need a haircut. Many don't have their match, so we just go with what we've got and hope for the best. Those are the mallets I let students bring home to practice on the bell kits with. My chime mallets have chips on the end...making them harder to use and get a nice, rich ring on the chimes.
I am requesting a variety of different mallets. These new mallets will be good for concert and contest use by my students.
