Mr. Cash from Atlanta GA is requesting books through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need many of these items to be successful inside and outside the classroom. I started a men chorus class and they need Tuxedos, and piano stickers and keys for piano classes.

I am the Director of Choral Activities at a High School in Atlanta, GA. Our school is in a transitional phase and we have been giving this opportunity to have a Choral & Piano Program at the school. The population that I teach are mostly African American, Hispanic, White and Other.
My students are in the inner city and have problems with expressing themselves freely and creativity.
Many of my kids have not been outside the city limits and a lot of their world's view are hindered due to the lack of travel. Violence and conflict is a part of their everyday lives, but through the choral & piano program and signing, I have seen slight changes in how they deal with conflict with each other.
The choral & piano class helps them deal with their social and emotional behavior.
Mahatma Gandhi once said, “If you don’t ask, you don’t get.” This is a simple enough phrase, yet very profound. Basically, in life, you must seek out what you want and deserve in order to truly receive it.
Well, today I am asking for assistance.
My assistance is not for me but for the hard-working students I teach and interact with on an everyday basis. My males student are in need of tuxedo shirts, tuxedo pants, and tuxedo tail jackets. My piano classes are also in need of materials for the piano lab so that they can be successful in class when playing.
These items will help aid my students in being successful when going to competitions and concerts. We are judged on our appearance by judges and I do not want the students to be penalized for something very small. The majority of my students live and come from a low economic status where they are not privileged to get some of the necessities that they need due to financial struggle. I have personally come out of my pocket about seven hundred fifty dollars to get us started with a budget to buy music and materials for the class.
My talented students have excelled in academics but just cannot seem to get the break that they DESERVE financially. I am not just speaking these words because I am their teacher, but because they deserve it. I get very sadden that my students want to participate in activities but are afraid to because of funding.
