My Students

Most of my students are from an urban area. They have chosen to attend our public charter school, to be a part of a school whose mission surrounds leadership, rhetoric, entrepreneurship, and debate, in a classical model, with twenty-first century skills.

Our school receives one-third of the funding of traditional public schools in our area of the state.

This creates an economic hardship for our school. As a result, we have a challenging time acquiring materials to support advancing our curriculum for our students.

My Project

These materials will support my students learning programming skills through robotics, Micro:bits, and 3Dprinting. The batteries will support programming on Edison Robots using both blocks based and python programming. The silica packets will aid in preserving our filament so it will work optimally with our 3D Printer. The filament is very susceptible to humidity in the air.

The led lights and servo motors will be used to support my students learning programming skills by working with Micro:bits.

These materials will allow our technology department to design lessons that expand upon a until of study our students get very engaged in.

The AP-Java flashcards will allow for valuable study resources for our students to use while prepping for the AP exam this May. Successful scores on this exam will give these students college credit.
