My Project

Our school has a wide range of students from different backgrounds and with diverse interests.

Some students have access to high quality steAm educational resources outside of school and at home, while others have regular access; regardless rarely do students get to emphasize the Art in steAm.

With these tools students, regardless of socioeconomic background or upbringing like seeing their designs come to life, they are innately curious and with tangible results, they are encouraged to go further.

If successful in reaching my goal, I would use these tools several times a year in all my classes, partner with ASB, and in STEAM related clubs. For my students to bring Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop designs on a sublimation printer or vinyl cutter they need a place to display their designs.

These specialized tools, students will become designers, creators, makers, and most importantly engaged since they are choosing their own creations. Tools like these expand the STEAM education for more students at our school and creative choice enhances their intrinsic motivation and helps them work beyond their perceived abilities. Some students will even gravitate towards pursing these endeavors well beyond school and find a creative niche often not accessible in most schools.
