My Students
I know it's said all the time, but I love, love, love it when my students "get it"!
My students try so hard, but the "getting it" part, can be so difficult for them to achieve.
My students have autism spectrum disorder, learning disabilities, mental retardation, attention deficit disorders, and/or other health impairments that hinder their success in school and in life.
My students love to learn, but need additional assistance to better understand concepts, and motivation to achieve grade level standards.
My Project
My students want to learn, but most of them have attention disorders that make it very difficult to focus in on the task at hand.
When I am able to enhance their learning by projecting the magnified image of an insect pupa morphing into an adult beetle, in real time, the amount of focus, enthusiasm, and work output I get from my students is magnified to the same degree, if not higher!
The computer and document camera will allow my students opportunities to share their ideas and demonstrate their understanding of a concept in more engaging and motivating ways.
Getting a new laptop computer and document camera for our classroom can go a long way towards leveling the playing field for my students.
