This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Project
A new year means that it is time for new resources. Students look to come to my classroom because of the calm environment that not only supports their learning, but their social and emotional learning as well. Mental health concerns are more common in students, especially in high-poverty families and communities.
By funding this project, you will help make our classroom a safe, calm, and comfortable space for all students to learn and grow.
Creating a space that is safe and comfortable for all students is something that I strive to do each and every day. Whether that be through calm and low tone colors, different light fixtures throughout the room, or smells that can help relieve stress and anxiety, each and every thing that I use within my room supports students social emotional learning and mental health needs.
