Making Reading Fun by Using Technology

My students need more technology in the classroom. I am trying to keep up with the changing demands for today's learners, and having HP Chromebooks will make learning fun!

My Students

Our school is a Title I school, and many of our students are poverty stricken. Many of my students do not have the opportunity to utilize technology at home, so I would like to give them the opportunity to use and learn through technology in my classroom. When we are able to use the computers in class, students are engaged and excited about learning. I have very few computers, and this does not meet the wants and needs of my amazing, deserving students.

My Project

Having HP Chromebooks in my reading classroom will make learning fun! Students live in a technology-driven world. They have become more accustomed to using computers than reading in a book. Having additional computers will help meet the needs of these eager learners.

My students love using many of the available reading programs on the internet.

They are actually excited when it's their day to read on the Chromebook, and it doesn't seem like a chore to them. I have data to prove that reading scores have increased significantly due to having some student computers. My goal is to eventually have 1 computer for each student, which will help EVERY student show growth.
