Help me give my students the opportunity to engage in hands on, interactive storytelling! These felt puppets will allow our youngest learners to put their active imaginations to use!
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I am an elementary librarian at two different inner-city Pre-K - 5 schools. There is nothing better than watching my students fall in love with new characters and authors and get swept away in the fictitious worlds those characters inhabit! Books also give them the ability to study real life far beyond our city limits without ever venturing past the walls of our small school community! My students joyfully enter the library excited to see what new books have come in, clamoring to read the next installment in their favorite series, from their favorite author. They are often hungry to find something new they love! There is nothing more rewarding than helping a child find the perfect-for-them book and in turning a non-avid reader into a huge fan!
My Project
These interactive felt puppets will allow our youngest learners to put their vivid imaginations to use!
Nothing creates stronger, lifelong learners than a genuine love for reading!
With familiar stories such as Goldilocks and the Three Little Bears, The Gingerbread Man, The Little Red Hen, and the Very Hungry Caterpillar, students will enjoy retelling some of their favorite stories as well as creating stories of their own!
Help me put those active, eager minds to use, allowing students to harness their natural energy and curiosity, and turn reading into an interactive, hands-on experience for hundreds of early elementary learners!
