My Students
I have been a middle school, special education teacher for fourteen years. Over the years, I have seen many changes in students, funding and attitude. I try my best to bring as many new experiences into my classroom so that I can "reach" as many students each day.
Many of our students come from low income, non English speaking homes from many different countries and do not have any support at home or resources to help guide them.
My goal is to gather as many new and exciting materials to help them succeed!
My Project
All students want to be successful in school. Reading and writing are challenges for my students. I am trying to make it fun and interesting for them. Time Magazine for kids is a great tool to not only get the students interested, but get them to enjoy reading and become avid readers.
Reading cubes and the reading material take a different spin on the concept of reading by being both hands-on, current material and a fun way to learn.
Students need a break from the typical paper pencil tasks at school and the magazines will do just that!
