Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
As I prepare for this upcoming school year, I have been reflecting on the things that I want to improve upon in my classroom from last year! These upcoming 1st graders are sweet, funny, social, caring, and ready to learn.
When I met these students I immediately saw how inquisitive and curious they are about the world around them.
I can only imagine all the wonderful ideas they have to share and cannot wait to start this upcoming school year!
My Project
These first grade students in a SPED inclusion classroom need individualized settings that will make them feel safe, secure, and happy, as well as promoting differentiated learning. The pillows will be used for comfortable seating, the tent will create a private learning spot, and the bins will be used to create personalized book boats they can read inside of.
The pillows, tent, and "book boats" will be used in the classroom library as well as other spots in the classroom to help students get comfortable and excited about learning.
This is to promote differentiated instruction in a Special Education Inclusion classroom, to help students feel safe and secure in individual learning spaces.
