My students are thinkers, readers, movers, scientists, dreamers, authors, mathematicians, and overall some of my favorite people I know. The fifth graders in our classes are filled with curiosity and hold a passion for learning.
My students come from diverse cultures, backgrounds, and socioeconomic status and in our classroom, we all come together to collaborate and learn.
The students at my school are looking for authentic learning experiences that they may not be able to find outside of school. My goal is to provide enriching learning experiences for these curious minds to satisfy their thirst for knowledge and develop their love of lifelong learning.
My Project
Students are learning in an environment unlike any they've ever had before. We are currently learning through a pandemic- sitting all together in rows is the least responsible thing we can do for our students right now. Students in my class are often given time to explore the curriculum at their own pace and interest to allow them to have a truly personalized learning experience.
With these resources, students can find the space they need within our room to collaborate while taking charge of their education.
Often when they are working together, sitting at their desks isn't working for them. They need the flexibility to find somewhere in our space to create a workstation and learn comfortably. As students have been coming in and out of quarantine this year, having supplies like headphones and computer mice to access any digital curriculum while they are at home or at school is helping them get caught up and stay with us- not having to share these resources creates the safest environment I can offer them.
