Making Our Mark (on Whiteboards)

Help me give my students a way to express themselves creatively. We can use the expo markers on the dry erase boards I already have in class.

My Students

My high school students are trying hard to figure out how they will fit into the world when they graduate. Some will go off to college, some to the military, and many will enter the workforce. They all have dreams and goals that motivate them to strive for greatness.

Navigating this time between childhood and adulthood can be difficult for students.

I try to find ways to make learning fun and exciting while also giving students some autonomy. The more tools I have in my metaphorical toolbelt, the longer I can keep the students engaged.

My Project

I teach mainly Chemistry and Physics. My students sometimes get bogged down in all the math involved in these subjects. I am always looking for ways to make the class more fun and engaging.

One way to help get students involved is to allow them to solve problems on the whiteboards.

We can have races to see which group can complete the problems the quickest or just give students another means of doing tedious work. It also makes it easy for me to see their mistakes and for them to correct them when they can just wipe off from where they messed up and start again.
