Making Music With Microphones

Help me give my students microphones to help them lead our class in our sight word songs.

My Students

I teach at a high poverty school full of energetic, eager-to-learn students. They come to Kindergarten on a variety of levels and from a variety of backgrounds. They all want to be successful. For some their time at school is their favorite part of their day.

The best part about kindergarten is they can have fun with just about any lesson.

It is my job to see to it that school can be a fun place even while they are learning. We make every day special for everyone by having fun while becoming successful learners.

My Project

We like to sing and dance in our room. I feel it is important to teach skills in a variety of ways.

Music is a great way to teach our sight words.

We have a sight word song for almost all of our kindergarten sight words. These songs also incorporate movement. We have different students leading these songs each day. These microphones will help them sing loud enough to be heard and also make them feel like real rock stars. The disco ball will help them keep the beat and who doesn't love to have a disco ball going while they are dancing.
