Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are inquisitive, inspiring, and eager to learn. They are individuals who have special educational needs. Many of my students have Specific Learning Disabilities (SLD). Several students receive Language and Speech (LAS) services, and some of my students have Autism (Aut.) and Other Health Impairments (OHI).
All of my students need to meet and hopefully exceed academic, social, career, vocation, and college standards.
Most of my students read between the pre-primer and the second-grade levels; few students read above the second-grade level. Most of my students qualify for our school meal program.
It is essential for my students to improve their academic skills to increase their success in middle school, high school, college, and in their chosen career paths. With your help, my students can increase their skills. Your support will encourage, motivate, and lead my students to strive to become lifelong learners with greater possibilities of wonderful careers in their near futures.
My Project
My students love to make art projects. They also love music. In my social studies class, we learn about other countries and time periods. Masks are used throughout history for many reasons to remember our ancestors; famous people, gods, and the like. Music is also universal; music is made all over the world throughout history.
In this project; I would like to be able to have my students learn how to make masks.
My students will be able to use the Plaster of Paris Gauze Bandages and Vaseline 100% Pure Petroleum Jelly to make their own masks. My students will mold the masks from their own faces or from a pre-made form. My students will use the 2 Sargent Art 24-2498 Count Artist Quality Acrylic Paint Sets to color the masks. They will decorate the masks using the Aleene's Original 3 Pack, 8 oz Tacky Glue, 2 Coceca 300pcs 3-5 Inches Colorful Feathers for DIY Craft Wedding Home Party Decorations, 1 Happy Shop 19000 Pcs Bulk Craft Sequins Cup Sequin Iridescent Spangles. They will also have an opportunity to learn how to make music from around the world with the RockJam 61-Key Electronic Keyboard Piano SuperKit. Additionally; I will place the Confetti Positive Sayings Accents around the classroom to increase an open mindset in my classroom.
