Making More Room for Excellence!

Help me give my students a better environment for learning to include a portable document camera and podium that can be moved away easily for more classroom space.

My Students

My school, located on the west-side of Colorado Springs, embodies a traditional high school. Students here work hard to learn the skills they will need for English in order to graduate. Together, we have created a classroom culture of respect. Daily, I witness students trying to help each other out. This includes everything from catching a student up when they have been absent to carrying someone's books when they are on crutches.

The diverse students at my school inspire me to come to work on a daily basis.

I could not imagine working for any other school or for any other group of student.

My Project

These items will make a difference by allowing my students to have more room in my classroom. A portable podium and document camera can be moved away to give more room for grouping desks when not needed. The document camera will also allow student work to be modeled on the overhead projector.

Students need movement, and the buzzers will be a great tool for vocabulary review games.

Whiteboards are also a great addition to these games.

Currently, our computer desk takes up quite a bit of room. A smaller desk will enable me to gain space and eliminate two other pieces of furniture.
