This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My middle school students will be collaborating with an elementary school on a special project called “Making Monsters Come Alive”. The concept is simple, yet profound:

Elementary school children use their boundless imaginations to create unique monsters, and my students bring these creations to life through the art of hand-stitching that they learn in my class.

This project not only fosters creativity and craftsmanship but also cultivates empathy and collaboration between students of different ages. It’s a wonderful opportunity for our middle schoolers to mentor and connect with younger children in our community. Thank you for considering this project that I know will spark joy!
