My students need hands-on puzzles, a measuring center, a graphing center, and games to help them learn to count, add, complete patterns, sort, and read a graph.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My kindergarteners started this year counting to 20 and knowing their basic shapes. Help me prepare my students to reach and exceed their year-end of goals of counting to 120, knowing 8 shapes, completing and creating patterns and reading a graph.
My students attend the first all-girls school in Washington DC.
They live in one of the most dangerous and poverty-stricken neighborhoods in the nation. They come to school eager to learn and excited to explore new concepts. They love to sing songs and play games to learn more about the world of math.
My Project
The resources include hands-on learning activities that focus on counting, adding, patterns, graphing, and sorting.
The resources will allow students many opportunities every day to explore and practice the skills they learn during math lessons. The materials are engaging and will motivate the students to develop a deeper understanding of numbers and adding. These activities will be enjoyed independently or in small groups.
Confidence in academics is developed through constant practice.
The materials will provide a fun and engaging way to develop the confidence in math that my students this year and following years will need to succeed throughout their years of school leading up to graduating from college.
