Making Math Meaningful

Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

Preparing 5th graders for middle school is an exciting challenge. My students are both bright and energetic. I find that many students are visual learners and need more hands on approach to help them understand and retain 5th grade math

It is my daily goal to offer all students a rich learning experience.

As a new educator, it’s very costly to create lessons that are both simulating and interactive. By donating, you will help me offer my students the resources and tools needed to make math an adventure everyday.

My Project

These materials will allow me to help students who aren’t on grade level. Having math manipulatives to help reinforce multiplication, division, fractions and decimal placement will help get many of them on grade level.

The gaming buzzer set will make reviewing for exam, checking homework and quizzes engaging as students will enjoy competing in teams to answer the correct answer.

The printer and laminators will allow me to printout worksheets and games for students and preserve these materials for reuse.

Overall as I plan out my lessons I would be able to add more hands on learning to the classroom
