Help me give my students materials to learn about money, fractions, multiplication and math problem solving in fun, interesting ways. Centers, games, and manipulatives create excitement, help students demonstrate their thinking, and learn the important math concepts.
Amazing, hard working students come to my special education classroom each day to improve their skills in a variety of areas. They are determined to learn, always try their best, and eager for independence.
My students have a wide variety of special learning needs, but these do not define who they are.
They are loving, hard working, determined, amazing young people. Many of my students come from backgrounds with additional challenges, from poverty, to challenging home environments, or significant medical needs. Each and every one of these students has goals and are working hard to gain the skills necessary to be successful.
My Project
The games, manipulatives, and center activities in this project will give students the opportunity to practice critical math skills in a fun way. Using fraction tiles, dice, and other center materials make a complex concept easier to understand, and much more fun to learn!
Having access to materials that make learning fun is a huge motivating factor for my students.
They love playing games to practice skills. In fact, my students even ask to learn new skills, just so they can use them to try new centers!
Independent practice is also important for mastering critical skills, and the center activities in this project give my students quality ways to practice skills on their own. They gain confidence along with skill mastery.
