This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are amazing young individuals that are so full of love and excitement for learning. My classroom is diverse, with the majority of students receiving free or reduced lunch. Many of these young boys and girls come to class having to overcome tough, sad situations in their home and community.
This project will impact students this year as well as all the incoming 5th-grade students in years to come.
In this year alone the project will impact 64 5th grade students.
My Project
The materials in this project will be used for my classroom for many years. This project includes math manipulatives to be used to teach fractions and decimals, as well as many games to teach and reinforce common core math standards for fifth graders.
What I love about these products is they are good for students of various academic levels.
These games are a fun and interactive way to practice what they have already learned, while also exposing them to concepts that we will focus on later in the school year.
With your help I can use these items to help my students find their love for math. As we know, the more students enjoy activities in the classroom, the more they will focus and want to learn!
