Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I work at a Title I school where 100% of students qualify for free breakfast and lunch. Our school boundaries include a homeless shelter, transitional housing, and refugee housing. Most of my students come from low-income houses and speak a language other than English at home. Our classroom is very diverse, and my students come from all over the world!

Even though my students have some disadvantages outside of school, they are all super hardworking, kind, and loving.

My Project

The materials I've selected will give my students a learning environment that is fun and engaging. Since I primarily teach math, I have selected math manipulatives that are valuable to student learning. These manipulatives will make challenging math easier. I've also selected some music and art supplies to help my students learn in different ways and different areas.

It is important that my students have all of the materials that they need to help them feel successful academically, socially, and emotionally.

The materials will be used daily in my classroom and will directly help all 45 of my students.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
