Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My sixth-grade students are curious, energetic, and full of potential. They bring unique perspectives to the classroom and are always willing to try, even when math feels challenging. What I love most about them is their resilience and excitement when learning finally “clicks.” Many of my students, however, struggle with abstract math concepts and need hands-on, visual experiences to truly understand and build confidence.

The resources in this project will transform how my students experience math:

The dry erase markers will allow students to actively participate, solve problems, and practice repeatedly without fear of making mistakes. This encourages risk-taking and builds confidence.

The flip calendar will support daily routines and strengthen number sense, helping students connect math to real-life concepts every day.

The fraction tiles and fraction circles will give students a concrete way to explore fractions, making it easier to understand equivalence, comparison, and operations.

The number line whiteboards and student number lines will help students visualize addition, subtraction, and integer relationships, which are essential for developing strong foundational skills.

The math magnets with numbers and symbols will allow students to build and manipulate equations, making abstract concepts more interactive and easier to grasp.

Finally, the storage drawer cart will help keep all materials organized and accessible, ensuring that students can quickly and independently use these tools during lessons and activities.

With these resources, my classroom will become a space where students can explore, collaborate, and truly understand math in a meaningful way. Your support will help turn confusion into confidence and create a learning environment where every student can succeed.
