My Project

My students are creative, curious, energetic, and full of ideas just waiting for an opportunity to come to life. As the art teacher for students in kindergarten through eighth grade, I have the privilege of watching children at so many different stages discover what it means to be an artist. Some walk into the art studio already confident in their creativity, while others are just beginning to discover what they can do.

What I love most is that art gives every student a place to succeed.

There isn’t just one right answer or one way to create. In our studio, students can experiment, problem-solve, make mistakes, try again, and discover their own unique artistic voice.

The paper, paint, and mixed-media materials in this project will help us build a well-stocked art studio where students can do much more than draw on copy paper. Quality drawing and painting papers will allow them to explore different techniques and materials. Paints will give students opportunities to learn about color, blending, brushwork, and artistic expression. Mixed-media supplies will let us combine materials, experiment with texture, and create projects that encourage imagination and creative problem-solving.

These resources will be used by students across multiple grade levels throughout the year, giving hundreds of young artists opportunities to experience new materials and techniques. My goal is to create an art studio where every student can walk through the door knowing that their ideas matter, their creativity is valued, and they have the tools they need to turn their imagination into something they are proud of.
