Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students are creative young adults full of wonder and endless possibilities who receive resource services. My students qualify for resource services because they have an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) . I normally work with my students one on one, in small groups, and inside their general classroom to assist with their academic needs. Our school is a partnership school in the inner-city which means our test scores are in the bottom 5 percent in our State.

My Project

The Apple MacPro laptop will be used as a educational tool to help my students during our online learning sessions. My current laptop has many limitations, which has made the virtual learning process challenging for my students. The need for a fast processing laptop with a high-resolution camera will mean that my students will be able to remain focused during our lessons. It will allow me access to additional applications and programs that are engaging and interactive.

My students are exceptional learners and it is difficult for them to stay on task for long periods of time.

This laptop will allow me to access websites faster without buffering issues. It will help my students become less frustrated during our sessions and more willing to interact. My students will continue to grow academically and socially in our virtual classroom.
