They have transformed my office into a welcoming, engaging space where students genuinely look forward to participating in social-emotional learning activities. What was once just a place for counseling has become a safe environment where students feel comfortable learning, sharing, and growing.\r\n\r\nThe hands-on games, journals, books, and SEL activities have made learning fun and interactive. Students are excited to participate in individual and group sessions, and I have seen an increase in collaboration as they work together, practice communication skills, and encourage one another during activities. Many students who were once hesitant to engage are now eager to join discussions and participate.\r\n\r\nOne of the most meaningful outcomes has been the relationships these resources have helped foster. More students are choosing to stop by my office when they need someone to talk to or when they need support managing their emotions. Because of the inviting environment these materials have helped create, students see my office as a safe space where they feel heard, valued, and supported.\r\n\r\nThese resources have strengthened my ability to build trusting relationships with my students while helping them develop important social-emotional skills such as emotional regulation, communication, problem-solving, and self-confidence. I am incredibly grateful to everyone who supported this project. Your generosity has made a lasting difference in the lives of my students and has helped create a positive, supportive school environment where they can continue to thrive.","fullyFundedDate":1728251369106,"projectUrl":"project/building-skills-in-social-emotional-lear/8777411/","projectTitle":"Building Skills in Social Emotional Learning","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. White","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8478692_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1696540605738","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8478692"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_73105","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":444,"numTeachers":null,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":98,"percentWhite":0,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":0,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":0,"gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":null,"demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":41.6,"schoolId":73105,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Central High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Central High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/michigan/detroit-public-schools-community-district/central-high-school/73105"}
