Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students are students who want to escape the feel and atmosphere of an inner-city school. They come to my school to learn and become functioning citizens of their community. My students come from a low economic community, but they do not let this bring them down. My students bring love for each other and their families to school every day. This love for each other, and the caring from the staff, creates a caring and loving community in our school that can be noticed by anyone who enters the building.

My Project

Students will be able to use this iPad to access more examples of the different types of math problems that I am currently going over in class. Being able to let my students use the internet to watch other examples done on-line will help them better fulfill their mathematical educational needs. Many times when I give group/independent work, I will have a student or a group of students waiting to receive help from me while I am already helping other students. This tablet will allow me to have resources waiting to help students while they are waiting for me.

This tablet will also allow me as a teacher to have better transitions in the classroom.

I would be able to use the tablet to take attendance when I am greeting students at the door as they walk in to my class, which will give me more time during class to teach and help students. The tablet will also allow me to let students see their grades and missing assignments for all their classes in real time on their own tablets no longer needing to use my class computer. Having this ability is especial helpful for the student who do not have internet at home. This tablet will give me as a teacher and my students a more efficient learning environment.
