Making It Matter Through Mentor Texts

Help me give my students mentor texts that can help teach them various reading skills.

My Project

During my years of teaching, I have learned that using read alouds to introduce reading skills helps students to understand them better. These mentor texts will be used in my fourth grade classroom to help teach various reading skills like author's purpose, theme, inferencing, character traits, and cause/effect.

I truly believe that using these mentor texts can help ignite a love of reading while teaching fourth grade reading skills at the same time.

These books will be used during my whole group and small group instruction to introduce these skills to my students.
