Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

Majority of my students are identified with serious emotional disability (SED), OHI and learning disability. They are easily distracted and requires structured small steps instruction. My students are below grade level performance and requires movement. During classwork, my student requires to rotate in seating on bungee chair to move around. We do this in every 10 minutes work. They will move to refocus and to have a better classwork output. My classroom has only one bungee chair that helps my student to rethink and refocus their behaviors and learning. I see the differences if my students will be given a chance to move while doing classwork. They are more focus, motivated to finish their work independently and has positive behaviors.

The products I have selected is an additional support for my students to have better learning outcomes.

The chair bands will help my students during district test and state test if they are not allowed to move. As well as wobble cushions will help my students to address their sensory needs during long testing periods. Both of these products are extremely beneficial to address sensory and behavioral issues of my student. For the two board social emotional games, it will help my students to process their emotions in more fun learning way as possible. The two math bingo games will help supplement my student’s math foundational skills in their own phase and will learn to enjoy math! Lastly, the sentence building, cvc word games and letter board games will also help supplement my emerging reader student. It is a great help in breaking down the concepts in reading words. My goal is to provide a learning environment that is sensory friendly. Also, to enhanced my student learning and behavior outcomes at school.
