Making History Come Alive Through Research and Art !
Help me give my students basic supplies such as markers, pencils, post it sticky pads, and tablet charging docks to be able to do historical research projects.
Our students are a diverse group of inquisitive middle schoolers with a wide range of abilities. They love doing inquiry projects where they have a more hands on approach such as creating historical comic strips, ancient history brochures, and posters. Some of our students are English Language Learners and others have diverse learning needs. We want to make the curriculum accessible through visually rich and engaging activities for our visual learners, most especially our English Language Learners. These wonderful and curious students need the basics to keep themselves organized and prepared at all times to learn.
My Project
The donations of materials for this project will help our students nurture inquiry and critical thinking skills to research various themes in their study of humanity, people, and events that have shaped our world. Project-based learning makes content meaningful and promotes personal responsibility and decision-making. Having materials such as chart paper, markers, and even charging stations for tablets will make it easier for students to work in small groups to create projects such as timelines, posters, historical comic strips. Allowing visual learners and English Language Learners to synthesize their understanding through art will give these students opportunities to engage with the curriculum.
