Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Intervention students would greatly benefit from having a variety of multi-sensory reading activities and tools. My students come to class ready to learn and just need some extra support in learning to read. The sight word kits will help build their understanding of the irregular words and build their vocabulary comprehension. The pictures will also help my English Language Learners develop a better understanding of the words they are reading.
I would love to offer fun and engaging fluency tools that would make reading more fun.
Students will love to use the Pop Its to count and pop out the sounds in words. The cute pointers and colorful timers will be used to encourage students to independently read and practice. My students love having their own tools. I believe it increases their engagement in learning. The whiteboards will be used to map out words and help build their overall understanding of sounds.
These items would help my students feel special and important. Multi-sensory activities will help support the wide variety of learning styles and needs that my students have. I would love to teach and engage my students with resources that support the Science of Reading. Scented pencils and small keychains will reward their positive efforts.
