My middle school students are one of a kind. All of my students are the children of our United States military, as well as those of the Coalition. They are selfless as they follow their parents wherever they are stationed every few years. They are resilient beyond belief. I try my best to give and teach them the best lessons and activities with the resources available, as they deserve the best.
Although located on a military base and a part of the school district, we do not have standard facilities such as a covered court or gym.
We share an outside space with the rest of the elementary school and are occasionally in the multipurpose room if the weather is poor, which is connected to the cafeteria and the stage on which band and chorus classes are held. My students make due with what we have, but they deserve to have more resources available to them. I love serving the children of those who serve, and only want them to have the best experience for the short time they are with me.
My Project
It seems like more and more kids of all ages are becoming less active and social, which is hurting both their physical and emotional health. My project is full of various sports equipment and games to allow my students different opportunities to be active and enjoy themselves while doing it.
My hope, my passion, and my job is to show and teach my students how important it is to stay active and healthy, and that you can also have fun while doing it!
I have asked for good quality soccer balls, a big bouncy soccer ball for various games, speed parachutes, and different outdoor games like bocce ball, baseball tees, ring toss, and a few others just to give a variety of fun active games to students of all fitness levels.
It's so important for kids to learn sooner than later how important it is to stay active physically and engage socially with their peers. PE class is the perfect time to do that, so these pieces of equipment would be greatly appreciated!
