This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach bilingual pre-kindergarten. My students are mostly native Spanish speakers, working to learn English as well as the normal academics for the age. My school has all low income students who are receive free or reduced-price lunch, and my school is in a high poverty area.

I create charts and visuals as much as possible.

The easiest way to do this is with post it chart paper. That and chart paper markers are what my classroom needs most.

My Project

In pre-k, anything that is made WITH the students helps them learn. These materials will help me work with them to create anchor charts so they can learn their alphabet, sight words, word families, and everything better! I frequently purchase the anchor chart tablets out of my own pocket so that my students don’t go without in the classroom. However, as you can see, the paper is expensive! Any help to fund my classroom essentials will be great! We make at least 3 charts a week, one for the letter I’m teaching, one for the number we are reviewing, and one for our sight words. Help with the paper and markers would be very appreciated!
