My Project

I am a lucky teacher! For the past 38 years, I have spent my days with fabulous, eager, inquisitive first graders. These students love learning about the world around them and seeing how they and others fit in.

We are a school of diverse, amazing learners.

The students in our school speak over 25 different languages and come from places all around the world. They are smart, silly, and compassionate! Our staff is committed to providing the best experience we can for our young learners. We want each of them to know that they are important and that they matter!

Scholastic News has become a staple in our first grade classrooms. The students are always excited to see what topics we will be learning about each month. Having access to both the digital and print versions of this resource makes it a more versatile learning tool and gives us a back up plan if we return to remote learning.

When students learn about people from around the world, the world becomes a smaller place.

Scholastic News helps us see how amazing our world is, while also allowing us to practice our important beginning reading skills. Knowledge is power! Reading is powerful!
