Making Blankets for Project Linus!

My Students

I teach a wonderful group of students in grades 9-12 with special needs. Some of my students have Down syndrome, autism, and learning disabilities. My students are making great progress every year in their classes, as well as occupational therapy, physical therapy, and speech therapy.

These students take reading, math, science, job skills, life skills, and social studies classes.

They love great books, hands-on activities, and field trips that go with our lessons. My students are kind, respectful, and hardworking. We work hard and have fun at the same time.

My Project

My job skills students want to work hard to help others in the community.

We will provide love, a sense of security, warmth and comfort to children who are seriously ill, traumatized, or otherwise in need through the gifts of new, handmade blankets.

This is a fun and rewarding opportunity for students to practice following directions and teamwork for the benefit of children. It's also great fine motor skill work.

Our fleece tie blankets will be sent to Project Linus, who will distribute them to the children who need comfort and warmth. We are excited to get started and have chosen patterns to brighten the faces of kids in our area!
