Making Augmented Reality a Reality!

Help me give my students these mini planets so they can use augmented reality to study them in a hands-on way!

My Students

Our 6th grade class is full of highly-inquisitive students who are curious learners that benefit from hands-on learning. Many of my students struggle with math and reading, but have a deep passion for science.

My students are truly the next generation of scientific explorers, researchers, and discoverers.

They love to learn using technology. We are fortunate to have access to technology in our school and these 6th graders thrive when we are able to use it! The use of technology allows these students to engage in learning in a way that makes them think critically while applying their technological knowledge.

My Project

The solar system and space are topics that are deeply covered in the 6th Grade Science curriculum. We study about our planets and their relationship to Earth, the rest of the solar system, and universe. These topics always mesmerize students and are ones that students can never get enough information.

Augmented reality is an amazing technological tool that can give students a hands-on experience with something that they will never be able to touch in real life.

These mini planet models are connected to an app and use augmented reality to allow students to manipulate each planet, look inside and around them, and learn specific information relating to each. This will give students an in depth look at something they may otherwise only be able to read about.
