This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I have the pleasure of teaching 60 students per year in third and now second grade for English, Writing, and Language Arts. My students come from a low income background. They do not have the opportunities most children get to have. You would think this would make learning difficult. It can be, but my students are amazing!
My students never give up and continue to push forward daily to improve their learning and their lives!
For example, one student came to me with a very rough background. It took a long time to build that trust and confidence. By the end of the year, she was one of the highest in the class!
Sometimes all it takes is a little bit of love and encouragement to help your students grow. I can't wait for you to get to know them better through Donors Choose Projects!
My Project
My students love to learn. They often do not have the exposure to resources that other students have. In order to encourage fun learning that embeds science in reading comprehension, the students will use these books to learn about the water cycle. The unit focuses on practical application of scientific explorations so that students understand basic cycles of the world around them.
These text books will help make a splash by integrating science, reading, and fun.
Students will use the factual information taken from the texts to create projects and learning opportunities to discover hands-on the world around them.
Your donation will help lay a strong foundation for scientific inquiry and reading based research that can last students a lifetime.
