This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Most of my students have been learning about 3D printing, but my middle school students are excited for their special project. They are learning about 3D printed assistive technology to help those with disabilities perform daily tasks as well as play and have fun.

Some of the filaments that we would like to use for our projects have special characteristics that will help us create functional devices to be used by real people.

My students are excited for this opportunity to make a difference in the lives of others. They are learning about empathy as they envision how their lives would be affected by different disabilities. This is a great opportunity to bring the real world into the classroom--and for the classroom to reach out into the real world.
