My Students

The Media Center is a hub of learning in our school. It is a place where students come to learn about things they are curious about or even to create something from their imagination. It can house not only books, but all kinds of MakerSpace items like Ozobots, Spheros, and Makey Makey kits.

Our students have a natural curiosity about the world and how it works.

They sincerely desire to know more and the Media Center helps foster that curiosity into a love of learning. MakerSpaces in particular are popular with our students because they allow our students to create while they are learning.

My Project

Our students enjoy hands on learning and often participate in MakerSpace activities in our Media Center. MakerSpaces provide an opportunity for students to actively learn about topics they are studying-such as electricity and circuits. MakerSpaces also provide an opportunity for students to work collaboratively with one another in order to solve problems and develop solutions.

These Makey Makey kits will allow students to explore circuits in a fun and meaningful way, making real world connections to what they are learning in science.

Working in teams, they will be able to explore how to connect the Makey Makey boards to other objects in order to complete a circuit and make their project come alive with electriicty. From play dough pianos to electric poetry boards, these Makey Makey kits will have students using what they've learned in class to create unique group projects that they can share with others through the Makey Makey website.
