My Project

Our students are excited to make their first moves as members of the brand-new Middle School and High School Chess Club! Meeting before school, our club will give students a fun and engaging way to start their day while learning a game that challenges them to think, plan, and problem-solve. Our club welcomes students of all skill levels, from complete beginners to students who already love the game. I want to create a place where students can learn together, make new friends, challenge themselves, and feel like they belong. Because we are building our club from the ground up, tournament-style chess boards and pieces will give students the opportunity to learn and play together. Chess clocks will introduce time management and new ways to play, while notation books will teach students to record their games, review their moves, and improve their strategies.

Chess builds critical thinking, concentration, patience, confidence, problem-solving, and good sportsmanship.

Most importantly, I hope our club becomes something students are excited to wake up and come to school early for. With your support, we can give our students the tools to learn, connect, and discover a lifelong love of chess - one move at a time.
