Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students come across many obstacles and have seen/experienced more than any child their age should. A significant portion are English learners and the majority of my students receive free/reduced-priced lunch.

Despite everything happening in their lives, they still show up to school eager to learn and with lots of love to give.

They always have a smile on their face and try their best. My goal is to show them love and support. I want them to know and trust that I will do anything I can to help them be successful.

My Project

Students are struggling to "catch up" and get acclimated with the classroom. These materials will be used in the classroom during small group to target those specific students who are struggling with those foundational skills needed to help them become successful with reading and math.

Students will be manipulating letters to practice letter names, sounds, beginning blends, and building words to help with those early reading skills that they are currently missing.

Targeting these specific skills will helps students with their self-esteem in the classroom, give them a boost of confidence, and last but not least, it will help to develop a love and appreciation of reading.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
